Harrogate Convention Centre –  Is one of the UK’s leading conference and exhibition venues, attracting thousands of visitors to the town each year. Famous for hosting the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest, it remains a major driver of Harrogate’s economy, supporting local hotels, restaurants, shops and tourism through a busy programme of conferences, exhibitions and live events. The Centre has been designed with you in mind. We have evolved over almost 200 years, combining our stunning heritage with contemporary, adaptable spaces that transform to suit your needs.

Harrogate Convention Centre’s £9.4m makeover begins

Work has started on a £9.4 million refurbishment of Harrogate Convention Centre, bringing modern breakout spaces, upgraded meeting facilities, new interiors and energy-efficient systems.

The investment aims to attract more major conferences, boost visitors to Harrogate and support local hotels, restaurants and shops. The project is expected to generate more than £1.5 million a year for the local economy and is due to be completed next spring.

Did you know the Royal Hall is decorated with an astounding 112,500 sheets of 23.5-carat gold leaf?

Outside of events, you can always visit the Royal Hall on an Open Day to fully take in its Edwardian splendour. The Open Days run between February and October and the last one in 2026 is coming up on 23rd October.

Built in 1903 by Frank Matcham to entertain the rich and famous visitors to the Harrogate spa, the Grade II* listed Royal Hall is open for free on selected days from 10am-4pm.

Guided Tours by the Royal Hall Restoration Trust run at 11.00am and 2.00pm. Check out the What’s On page for details.
