Main Ring Attraction Announced for Great Yorkshire Show 2026

Motorbike stunt riding team The Bolddog FMX is set to take centre stage as the Main Ring attraction at the Great Yorkshire Show (Tuesday 14 – Friday 17 July 2026).

Managed by one of Europe’s top freestyle motocross riders, Dan Whitby, the team uses one of the largest, most sophisticated FMX landing ramps ever seen anywhere in the world. Riders will use the ramp to perform tricks flying 35ft in the air when they take to the Main Ring once a day, for all four days. The team last appeared at the Show in 2019.

The Great Yorkshire Show is one of the UK’s most prestigious agricultural events, held every July on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the show celebrates the very best of British farming, food, and countryside life. Spanning four days and beginning on the second Tuesday of July, it attracts over 140,000 visitors from across the UK and beyond.

Great Yorkshire Show Announces 2026 Dates Following Record-Breaking Year

The 167th Great Yorkshire Show will take place from 14 to 17 July 2026, following a record-breaking event in 2025 which attracted 140,000 visitors over four days.

The 2025 show was a sell-out success, celebrating the very best of British agriculture and rural life. More than 8,500 animals were exhibited in pursuit of coveted rosettes, while innovation and the next generation of farming were showcased in an expanded Innovation Zone and at the Future Farmers of Yorkshire Breakfast Meeting on the GYS Stage.

Highlights of the week included a wedding, five national breed championships, and the popular Britain’s Fittest Farmer competition.

The show also welcomed a number of high-profile visitors, including politicians and well-known television personalities such as Helen Skelton, Matt Baker, Peter Wright from The Yorkshire Vet, and Rob and Dave Nicholson of Cannon Hall Farm.

Tickets for the 2026 event will go on sale in November 2025, with further details to be announced on the show’s website in January 2026.

Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the Great Yorkshire Show supports the charity’s mission to create a thriving future for farming, food, and the countryside across the region.

Harrogate Showground to Host Packed Calendar of Events in 2026

The Great Yorkshire Showground is set for an exceptionally busy year, with a full calendar of major conferences, exhibitions and public events taking place throughout 2026. Hosted across the Great Yorkshire Events Centre and the Pavilions of Harrogate, the programme positions Harrogate as one of Yorkshire’s leading destinations for large-scale events.

Major Harrogate Events Highlights

Yorkshire Farming Conference – January 28, 2026

The Yorkshire Farming Conference will take place on Wednesday, January 28, at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre. Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the conference will feature more than 30 speakers and over 60 farming-related businesses and organisations.

Pascify Con Book Festival – April 11, 2026

Pascify Con, a brand-new book festival in Harrogate, will debut on Saturday, April 11. The event focuses on paranormal, science fiction and fantasy genres, bringing together hundreds of authors for talks, panel discussions, readings and Q&A sessions. Visitors can also purchase exclusive signed editions and themed merchandise.

Everything Electric North – May 8–9, 2026

Everything Electric North returns to Harrogate on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9. Produced by Fully Charged, the event will showcase electric vehicles, home energy solutions and cutting-edge technology, alongside expert talks and the UK’s largest EV test-drive experience.

Northern Country Sports Show – June 6–7, 2026

The Northern Country Sports Show takes place over the weekend of June 6 and 7 at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre. Organised by AW Events, the show celebrates shooting, hunting and fishing, with live demonstrations, exhibitors and on-site camping available.

Mathewsons Live – August 22–23, 2026

Motoring fans can enjoy Mathewsons Live, a two-day motoring and lifestyle event on August 22 and 23. Highlights include rally stage demonstrations, rare and classic car displays, live music and artisan food and drink. Visitors will also be able to meet the Mathewson family from the popular TV series Bangers & Cash.

Conferences and Community Events in Harrogate

Another key date is the Yorkshire Voices Conference: Reset & Rise, taking place on Friday, February 27, at Pavilions of Harrogate. Organised by Yorkshire Ladies Links, the conference focuses on modern challenges facing women and features high-profile speakers including Christine Talbot, Stephanie Hirst and Christa Ackroyd. Admission is free with advance registration.
