BUSESHarrogate Bus Timetables Are Changing – Is Your Route Affected?

Click Here for New Timetables: https://www.transdevbus.co.uk/media/qz4mnp0j/260528-7.pdf

If you regularly travel by bus in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Wetherby or Boroughbridge, you’ll want to check your journey before setting off this summer.

From Saturday, 19 July, The Harrogate Bus Company is introducing a number of timetable changes across several popular routes, with some services seeing minor tweaks while others face significant reductions.

Whether you’re commuting to work, heading into town for shopping, or catching a bus to Leeds or Ripon, these changes could affect your usual journey.

🚌 Quick Guide: What’s Changing?

Route 36: Harrogate ↔ Leeds ↔ Ripon

One of the region’s busiest bus routes will see timetable adjustments throughout the day to help improve punctuality.

👉 If you regularly use the 36, double-check your departure times.

Route 1: Harrogate ↔ Knaresborough

Changes to Monday-to-Saturday services mean some journey times will be different.

👉 Worth checking if you travel between Harrogate and Knaresborough for work, school or shopping.

Route 2: Harrogate ↔ Bilton

Only minor timetable changes are planned.

👉 Even small adjustments can catch people out, so it’s worth a quick check.

Route 4: King Edwin Park Service Faces Major Changes

This is one of the biggest changes announced.

The service is currently funded by the developer of King Edwin Park through North Yorkshire Council, but that funding is expected to run out within the next few months.

As a result:

❌ Buses will no longer run as frequently
✅ Services will operate every two hours
✅ The route will be extended via Burley Bank Road
✅ New links to Pinemoor Caravan Park and Harrogate West Business Park

For residents and workers in these areas, the revised route could create new travel opportunities.

Route 6: Pannal Ash & Beckwith Knowle

Off-peak services will reduce from every 20 minutes to every 40 minutes.

The good news?

✅ Peak-time services will remain every 20 minutes.

👉 If you travel during the middle of the day, you’ll likely notice the biggest difference.

Route 7: Harrogate ↔ Wetherby ↔ Leeds

Passengers on the popular Route 7 can expect:

✅ Improved timetable reliability
✅ Extra weekday journey to Boston Spa
✅ Additional Saturday morning trips between Bramham and Harrogate

This should provide a little more flexibility for weekend travellers.

Route 21: Knaresborough ↔ Boroughbridge

Fast journeys will now travel via Staveley, improving connections for local passengers.

👀 Why Is This Happening?

According to The Harrogate Bus Company, the changes are designed to:

✔ Improve punctuality
✔ Better reflect how people are travelling today
✔ Reduce delays
✔ Help protect the future of local bus services

Before You Travel…

If you haven’t checked a bus timetable for a while, now is the time.

Even if your route only has “minor changes”, departure times may be different from what you’re used to.
