Coffee, conversation and companionship are at the heart of a new community caf\u00e9 in Harrogate that hopes to become a welcoming social hub for people of all ages.<\/p>\n

The Lounge Caf\u00e9\u201d at St Mark’s Church on Leeds Road has officially opened \u2014 offering speciality coffee, homemade food and a friendly place where visitors are greeted personally as they arrive.<\/p>\n

But unlike many caf\u00e9s, the focus here is just as much on friendship and wellbeing as it is on coffee and cake.<\/p>\n

A Caf\u00e9 Designed Around Community<\/p>\n

Step inside The Lounge Caf\u00e9 and visitors will find:<\/p>\n

The church\u2019s former community room has been transformed into a vibrant lounge-style caf\u00e9 aimed at helping people feel connected and welcome.<\/p>\n

The event is particularly aimed at older residents and vulnerable members of the community.<\/p>\n

Vicar Mike Resch said the long-term aim is to create a genuine community hub in Harrogate.<\/p>\n

He said: We are incredibly excited for the future of The Lounge Caf\u00e9. We would like it to become the hub of local life, bringing people from all ages and backgrounds together, giving older people, young mums and visitors to the town a real sense of community and friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n
