About the Annual Nidderdale Show

The Nidderdale Show, held in the picturesque setting of Bewerley Park, Pateley Bridge, is one of North Yorkshire’s most popular agricultural shows. Attracting more than 15,000 visitors each year, it proudly marks the end of the agricultural show season in the county.

A Celebration of Yorkshire’s Agricultural Heritage

The Show celebrates the very best of British farming and rural life, showcasing top-class livestock, horses, and dogs. It is renowned for featuring one of the finest exhibitions of animals in the UK, drawing competitors and visitors from across the country.Competitors come from far and wide to take part. Because it is at the end of the season, their animals are in prime condition. They may have entered other shows, but to win at this  Show is the sign of a true champion.”

Joe Stoney, Show Director (2004)

A Year in the Making

Organising the Nidderdale Show is a year-round effort. As soon as one show ends, preparations for the next begin — with committee meetings, steward briefings, and event planning taking place throughout the year.

The on-site preparations begin in early September, when sheep pens and showground layouts are set up. Marquees are erected during the week leading up to the show, followed by the arrival of the fun fair on the Thursday before show day.
Over the weekend, trade stands begin setting up, and stewards are briefed on Sunday — ensuring everything is ready for a spectacular day out in Nidderdale.

A True Community Effort

The Nidderdale Show is not just an event — it’s a celebration of rural Yorkshire life, community spirit, and farming excellence. When the show ends, the team begins the cycle all over again, preparing to make the next year’s show even better.
