Harrogate offers a full programme of festive events in 2025, from seasonal fairs and markets to concerts and party nights. Here are some of the highlights:

The Great Yorkshire Christmas Fair
November 27–30, 2025 – Yorkshire Event Centre
A showcase of seasonal gifts, food, and crafts, marking the start of Harrogate’s festive calendar. -
Christmas with Anton Du Beke & Friends
December 1, 2025 – Royal Hall
An evening of music and dance featuring Anton Du Beke and special guests. -
Harrogate Christmas Fayre
December 5–14, 2025 – Town Centre
The town’s major Christmas event, with festive stalls, fairground rides, and the free Candy Cane Express train. -

Throughout December, many Harrogate hotels, restaurants, and venues will host festive parties, dining experiences, and seasonal celebrations.

The Magical Christmas Experience at Birchfield Farm
Meet mother Christmas in her sitting room to check in and collect your sleigh ride tickets.
Meet at the sleigh pick up point for your chosen time to be greeted by Buddy the elf who will help you board Santa’s sleigh for your magical sleigh ride.
You will arrive at father’s Christmas woodland grotto where you can sit by the fire and tell him your Christmas wishes.
Each paying child will receive a hand wrapped gift from Father Christmas.
Each paying child will be able to visit the elves kitchen and decorate a yummy gingerbread biscuit to take home.
Buddy will drop you back off at the farm where you’ll be able to meet the animals, bounce on the castles, build in the construction play area or explore in the new adventure play.
You’ll also be able to write Christmas letters to post to Father Christmas or make Christmas crafts with your family.
Each child can make magical reindeer food to take home ready for Christmas Eve.
The café will be open to enjoy a festive hot chocolate or fill up on some hot food with yummy ice cream for pudding.
We try hard to make our magical Christmas experience as personal as we can for you . This means that only you and your family will be on sleigh ride to visit Father Christmas . Once you have arrived at his woodland grotto you will have time with just your family to meet Father Christmas and tell him your Christmas wishes before boarding back on Buddy’s sleigh to be taken back to the farm . This really makes the experience feel personal.
Photos are welcome to be taken with Father Christmas and throughout the experience so don’t forget your cameras!
Winter can be very cold at the farm so please dress appropriately. Woolly hats and gloves may be needed.

On a reimagined trail for 2025, wander through familiar landscapes now shimmering with festive brilliance. Discover new surprises at every turn, with hidden vistas bathed in soft glows and bold beams, creating a magical, atmospheric journey like never before.
Aglow with festive magic
Experience a mesmerising display of light and colour, from magnificent trees bathed in brilliant hues to the breathtaking Thaliana Bridge lit up to reveal its striking architectural beauty and magnificent reflections across the Queen Mother’s Lake.
Be immersed in the kaleidoscope of festive colour and thousands of glittering lights. It’s a perfect backdrop for family get-togethers and spending time with friends and loved ones at this special time of year.
Food and drink
Take a break along the way and tuck into tasty festive treats and warming drinks available to buy. Enjoy a mulled wine or indulgent hot chocolate and choose from a tempting range of sweet treats at Betty’s Teahouse. New for this year, head to The Harrogate Arms and savour a delicious selection of Bratwurst and jacket potatoes, or warm yourself while toasting marshmallows over a crackling fire.

- Additional booking information: Members, non-members and children aged 5+ require a pre-booked Glow ticket. You may arrive at any time during your booked time slot and can stay as long as you like within opening times

A special RHS Glow evening adapted to have fewer visitors, minimal noise and less distractions for those with sensory needs. Up to two accompanying carers go free. Please only book these sessions if you or a member of your party have additional sensory needs, as spaces are limited.
